Honda Amaze is set to enter its second generation, which is expected to be showcased at 2018 Auto Expo due to be held in February. Before it is officially unveiled, Honda has said that the new Amaze will be a premium product that will be more luxurious on the inside, according to an Autocar India report. Honda Amaze was first launched in 2013 when it drew criticism over its interior. The problem was later fixed a little with a new dashboard in the facelift version that came in 2016. Now though, Honda Cars is planning to give the Amaze a new interior altogether which will be sophisticated and up class. We expect the new Amaze to come with better materials inside along with a nicer dashboard design. Honda is also likely to stretch the cabin space a little as compared to the existing model. The Japanese brand may increase the width of the new car, which would seating three passengers at the back more comfortable, and not to mention the Amaze is already one of the most spacious compact sedans on sale in India.
New Honda Amaze is likely to carry forward the same engine options, along with the same platform as the current model with similar dimensions remaining under the 4-metre mark. The exterior, however, will pick some design cues from the larger sedan City. The new Amaze is likely to come with a chrome grille, angular headlamps and detailing that is sharper than the current model.
The new Honda Amaze will be powered by a 1.2-litre Vtec petrol and 1.5-litre Dtec engine options. The brand is expected to eventually introduce an automatic gearbox version. The new Amaze is likely to be launched sometime next year.
