The new generation 2018 Maruti Suzuki WagonR hatchback has been spotted testing in Delhi NCR once again. A few days back, we had spotted a test mule of the said car that was doing rounds in a heavy camouflage. However, this time around, the car has been snapped completely undisguised by a Rushlane reader. Some reports on the internet suggest that the new 2018 Maruti WagonR will come based on the HEARTEC platform, the same platform on which the new Swift and Swift Dzire have been built. The most prominent highlight of the new 2018 Maruti WagonR is its tall boy design. The popular hatchback gets a bigger headlamp up front with a revised grille that make it look significantly different from the present day model. The rear portion of the new Maruti WagonR is also redesigned as one can see new LED tail lamps that look slightly better now. The car is also seen with a idling stop badge at the rear and the said technology helps in fuel saving.
Engine details of the new 2018 Maruti WagonR are a mystery at the moment. The current generation model sources its power from a 998cc, three cylinder engine mated to a five-speed transmission. The new model might see some revisions in the current mill only to see better performance and fuel economy.
The cabin of the new Maruti WagonR is not visible properly in the spy images. One can expect more premium feel along with the inclusion of features like steering mounted audio controls and touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of safety, the car will most likely receive an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and airbags. The new 2018 Maruti WagonR will be launched in India in the coming weeks. Stay tuned with us as we will share more details of the car in the days to come!
