BMW is set to roll out the new M5 competition package soon and a handful of details have already leaked on the internet. A report on Bimmerpost claims that the production of the new BMW M5 competition package will start in April this year. The good news for the performance enthusiasts is that the new BMW M5 competition package will come with a significant boost in power. With the new kit installed, the engine will get a power hike of 25 horses and hence, will now churn out a maximum power output of 625 hp. There is no confirmation of the torque figure as of now but it is expected to stay around 750 Nm. The engine will be the same 4.4-litre, twin turbo V8 unit, found in the present M5. The new BMW M5 competition package isn’t limited to the boost in power output only. In addition, the package will most likely come with bits like ceramic brakes for enhanced braking performance and a stiffer suspension along with a retuned chassis for improved handling.
The alloy wheel design for the new BMW M5 competition package will also be new and might look significantly different than the existing model. Besides this, the interiors in the new BMW M5 competition package will also see some revisions and the cabin is expected to look sportier than before.
Price details on the new BMW M5 competition package are still a mystery at the moment but it is expected to be priced at a significantly higher price tag than the regular model. As already mentioned, production of the new BMW M5 competition package will start in April and hence, it may be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show that is scheduled in March this year. Followed by this, the new package might make its way to the New York Auto Show that will take place at the end of the same month.
