New 2017 Honda City receives 5,000 bookings within first 12 days, Watch video review

Honda Cars India launched the facelifted City on 14th January 2017, while the bookings opened earlier at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The new City seems to have struck the right chords with customers initially as it has received 5,000 bookings within 12 days of booking. The facelifted Honda City gets new features in interior and exterior, however it carries the same engine. The 2017 Honda City is powered by a same 1.5 litre i-VTEC and a 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine. The petrol variants produce 117 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque and are paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox with paddle shifters on higher trims. The diesel engine on the other hand, generates 99 hp and 200Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The new facelifted Honda City gets features such as headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and LED tail lamps, mounted spoiler with LED stop lamp, LED lamps for the rear license plate as well as an electric sunroof on the exterior, depending on the variants. The new Honda City is available in five variants, wherein S is the base variant with a petrol engine, while SV, V, VX and ZX are available with petrol and diesel powertrain.

Inside the cabin, the sedan gets features an LCD infotainment system with 4 speakers on the lower versions. The upper variants though, get a 17.7 cm or a 7-inch DIGIPAD touchscreen infotainment system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. The system also has a 1.5 GB media memory, mirror link smartphone connectivity, voice recognition and a rearview camera. The interior features leather seat upholstery, leather wrapped armrests, automatic headlamps, automatic wipers and LED cabin lights.

The 2017 Honda City is equipped with standard safety features such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags, engine immobiliser and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The sedan is available in five colours -Modern Steel Metallic, Carnelian red Pearl, White Orchid Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic and Albaster Silver Metallic.
