Mini’s John Cooper Works Pro edition has been launched at a rather stratospheric Rs. 43.90 lakh, thanks to the CBU set up. However, if you want one you’ll have to hurry as the automaker has only 20 units on offer today. Fast-hatches are becoming all the rage in the country, which means that almost every major automaker has one on sale right now. But how badly would you want a JCW Pro edition considering that Mini has decided to price it at almost the same price as a Mercedes Benz C-Class! And that’s a lot to pay considering the JCW makes just 30 hp more than the VW Beetle, 30 more than VW Polo GTi. Now for those of you who count your rupees to BHP, the same horses on the Mini is going to cost you almost twice as much as they would on a VW, or for that matter even the Fiat 595 Abarth.

So what do you get in your half crore hatchback?Well the JCW Pro edition is based on the three-door Mini. What you get for your extra shillings is a fusillade of JCW accessories. Which means a dual-tone exterior design, ORVM housings. In terms of aesthetics, there’s a racing stripe in matte black and red. LED headlamps accented with blackouts, and JCW body kit emblems. The ride comes with 17-inch alloys, gloss black painted wheels and a dual exhaust system with user controlled valves that have a carbon fibre finish. It will be available in two shades, that is depending on a first come first serve basis, Midnight black and British Racing Green.

The interiors on the Mini JCW Pro get the Racerboy treatment, with integrated headrests wrapped in black and red Alcantara leather tied together by a themed dashboard red trim and anthracite roof lining. Finishing the interiors is a JCW Pro steering with paddle shifters. The gear levers get red trim as well.

Pro edition comes pre-loaded with features like a heads-up display, satellite navigation and a Harmon Kardon audio system with a touchscreen. 12 speakers and an 8-channel digital amplifier that has an output of 360 Watts. Power comes from a 2.0 litre, 4-Cylinder turbo-charged petrol motor that makes 208 hp with 300 Nm of torque, 18 hp and 20 Nm more than the standard Mini. The JCW Pro-kit also makes the 0-100 run in 6.3 seconds, .2 quicker than the standard.
