Purists have another reason to rejoice as German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has introduced the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe, the powerhouse version of the GLC priced at Rs 74.8 lakh, ex-showroom. Powering this coupe is a 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged V6 that generates 367 hp of power from 5,500 rpm to 6,000 rpm and 520 Nm of torque between 2,500 rpm and 4,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and the coupe has a top speed electronically limited to 250 kmph. Although the engine is the same as the GLE 43 Coupe, its elder AMG sibling, the claimed zero to 100 kmph of 4.9 seconds is 0.8 seconds faster the GLE 43 Coupe. That's because the kerb weight of the GLC 43 Coupe is lesser at 1,855 kg. In terms of dimensions, the GLC 43 Coupe measures 4,728 mm in length, 2,096 mm in width, 1,587 in height and a wheelbase of 2,873 mm. Standard kit on the GLC 43 Coupe, since it is available only in one variant includes low profile alloy wheels, LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps, LED tail lamps, wider air intakes compared to the standard GLC.

The interior is finished in an all-black theme with silver inserts on some of the elements like the centre console and the steering wheel. The COMAND infotainment unit is a standard fitment which isn't a touchscreen unit. However, it can be controlled through gestures using the touch panel on the centre console. This infotainment system supports Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and there are controls to operate some of these functions on the steering wheel for ease of operation. Automatic climate control with different zones is also offered. In terms of safety, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe will be available with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), multiple airbags, traction control and all that one would expect from a car of this segment.

In terms of competitors, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe technically has no competitors, however, purely in terms of its aggressive price tag, the Audi S5 can be considered as its closest rival.
