After the first official sketch released earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has now teased the front fascia of the all-new Vitara Brezza compact SUV. The Maruti Vitara Brezza will have its world premiere at the upcoming Auto Expo in February, followed by its launch a few weeks later. The teaser image reveals the front grille, headlights and signature ‘Suzuki’ badge of the vehicle.
This sub-compact SUV is the first product designed and developed solely by Maruti’s Indian team. It will also be the company’s first-ever sub-compact SUV in India. Since the Vitara Brezza will be positioned below the S-Cross, it will be sold through regular Maruti dealerships. It will face competition from cars like Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.
Powering the Maruti Vitara Brezza could be the Swift’s 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. While a CVT gearbox could be available on the petrol variant.
In terms of design and styling, Maruti’s new compact SUV will share resemblance with the iV-4 concept showcased at Frankfurt Motor Show. With elements like square wheel arches, shot overhangs, and high shoulder and prominent character lines, the vehicle will attract urban SUV buyers. What further enhances its aggressive styling are upright hood, sloping roofline, alloy wheels and a high ground clearance.
