Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Dzire in India at Rs 5.45 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Dzire is based on the company’s ‘Heartect’ B-platform that makes the sedan weigh lesser by up to 105 kg for the diesel and 85 kg for the petrol versions. Talking about the design, the car manufacturer has equipped the Dzire with LED projector headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), LED tail lamps, OVRMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with turn indicators, chrome embellished front grille and 15-inch alloy wheels. These features are available only on the higher variants.
Other comfort and convenient features include an outside temperature display on the MID (Multi-information display), push button start/stop, electrically retractable ORVMs, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and driver’s power window with auto up/down function.
The interior has received dual tone colour scheme in black with faux wood and beige optional upholstery, the top versions gets an infotainment system with voice control, navigation and Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The safety features consist of ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), dual front airbags, driver seat belt disengage warning, key left warning and door ajar warning as standard. The higher variants get speed sensing door lock, day and night adjustable IRVM (Internal Rear View Mirror), reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera, rear defogger and front fog lamps.
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is available in both petrol and diesel variants that are powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol with 81 hp of power and 113 Nm of torque as well as a 1.3 litre diesel unit that generates 74 hp and 190 Nm of torque. The engines are paired to an automatic transmission or which the company calls it an (AGS – Auto Gear Shift) along with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The new Dzire is the most fuel efficient car in the country now. The petrol engine delivers a claimed fuel economy of 22 kmpl, while the diesel variants offer 28.40 kmpl.
In the compact sedan segment, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Honda Amaze.
