Maruti Suzuki will reveal its much awaited Ignis today to select media in New Delhi. The company will launch the car on 13th January 2016, and was earlier showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Ignis will be sold through the company's Nexa Dealerships at an expected price of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. When launched, the Ignis will compete with the Mahindra KUV100 in its segment.
The crossover Ignis will be powered by a 1.2 litre K series petrol engine and 1.3 litre DDiS engine that is being used in the multiple models of Maruti Suzuki. The 1.2 litre petrol unit will produce 90hp of power and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). On the other hand, the 1.3 litre diesel powertrain churns out 88hp of power and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.The company might introduce the Ignis with Maruti Suzuki's SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild-hybrid technology.

Inside the cabin, the car features touch screen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay, USB, and AUX. In terms of safety, the Ignis is expected to get features such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual-front airbags as standard.
