Maruti Suzuki Dzire that made its market debut in May 2017, and in about five and half months the company has surpassed the 1-lakh sales milestone of its new third-generation Dzire. An internal research conducted by Maruti Suzuki claims that new style and fresh look of Dzire along with SmartPlay infotainment system and the auto gear shift (AGS) technology have made Dzire a better package, especially for first-time buyers. Maruti says nearly half of the new Dzire customers have chosen the sedan as their first car purchase. This shows a paradigm shift of the Indian customers who are now opting for a sedan as their first car. Nearly 17% of Dzire customers have opted for AGS variant during April-September 2017. The AGS technology is now available on six options starting V trim up to Z and Z+ in both petrol and diesel fuel variants.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engine options. The petrol engine sheds a power output of 81 bhp and 113 Nm of torque whereas the diesel engine makes 75 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. Petrol variants of new Dzire are priced between Rs 5.45 – 8.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the diesel variants are priced between Rs 6.88 – 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In its third generation, Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets newly designed headlamps with LED DRLs and projector headlamps, which add to the premium appeal of the design, which is a first for the Dzire brand. The diamond-cut alloy wheels are the most striking part when viewing the car from the side. The silhouette too is different but it will take a keen eye to spot this as the change is progressive, not radical. The rear is all new with LED tail lamps flanking a thick stripe of chrome. The infotainment system supports both Apple Car Play and Google Android Auto along with Navigation.
