Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S launched, prices start at Rs 9.39 lakh

Maruti Suzuki introduces a new variant in its Ciaz line up, known as S variant, which is top end trim. The Ciaz S variant is now available with both the petrol and diesel engine options. The Ciaz S variant is the price at a price of Rs 9.39 lakh for petrol and Rs 11.55 lakh for diesel, both the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The S variant has received cosmetic upgrades such as projector headlamps,16- inch alloy wheels, chrome body coloured handles and trunk lid spoiler with high mount stop lamp. Inside the cabin, the sedan gets features such as leather seat upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel and touch screen infotainment system compatible with Bluetooth and USB. In addition, it gets push start/stop, key less entry, rear AC vents and chrome accents on the steering wheel, parking brake lever. In terms of safety, the S variant gets dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner with force limiter, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX as standard. Also, it gets rear parking camera and rear de-fogger.

Under the hood, the Ciaz S variant is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 91 hp of power and 130Nm of torque. The 1.3-litre diesel engine with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki) system generates 88.5 hp and 200 Nm. The petrol version comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel version only comes with the 5-speed manual unit.

In July 2017, the company witnessed an increase of 23.5 percent in its mid size segment sales, which includes Ciaz. The manufacturer sold 6377 units in July 2017 against 5162 units in same month last year.
