Mahindra & Mahindra that recently revealed the pictures of its upcoming compact SUV - the NuvoSport - has announced to launch it in April 2016. Coming as replacement to the Quanto, the Mahindra NuvoSport could be positioned between the KUV100 and the TUV300.

Here are 5 things that you should know about the Mahindra NuvoSport -

Mahindra NuvoSport Design

The NuvoSport has been designed and developed by Mahindra's in-house design team, and the research & development has been carried out by the Mahindra Research Vallery (MRV) Chennai. The NuvoSport is basically a replacement to the Quanto, and has gone through several design changes. While the vehicle's side and rear profile might still remind you of the Quanto, it's front fascia that gives it a refreshing look.

At the front, the vehicle features a narrower grille, all-new headlamps, revised bumper, larger airdam, and slightly revised fog lamps with chrome surrounds. It also gets eyebrow shaped daytime running lamps positioned above the headlamps. Besides the aforementioned changes made to the vehicle, it also gets new alloy wheels and extra plastic cladding across side and rear profile of the vehicle.

Mahindra NuvoSport Specifications

Though there is no official word yet on its engine and transmission, it is likely to carry the TUV300's new 1.5-litre diesel in two gearbox options - a 5-speed manual and an automated manual transmission (AMT). This engine is good for 100bhp and 240Nm.

Mahindra NuvoSport Expected Price

Since the NuvoSport will be positioned between the KUV100 and the TUV300, we expect it to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh - Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra NuvoSport Launch Date

Mahindra's new sub-compact SUV will be rolled out on April 4, 2016 and the deliveries across India will most probably commence after a week or two from its launch.
