Mahindra Marksman has been included in the fleet for the CISF’s (Central Industrial Security Force) Quick Reaction Team’s fleet stationed at New Delhi International Airport. With this, the New Delhi international airport has become the first commercial airport where six of these armoured vehicles have been stationed. The Marksman is a bulletproof vehicle built by Mahindra Group's defence systems and military vehicles division.
Mahindra Marksman engine & platform
The Marksman comes in two engine options - a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine and a 2.6-litre turbocharged DI engine. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It is based on Mahindra Scorpio with the same platform but the weight is significantly higher because of the body armour.
Mahindra Marksman combat capability
The Marksman is an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) which can seat six occupants (two in the front and four in the rear). It is armoured to level B6 standards, which provide protection from small firearms and grenade attacks as well. The Marksman also has floor blast protection up to two hand grenades. The Marksman has a machine gun mount, seven firing crew ports, a rear-view camera and an LCD screen.
