Some segments are tailor-made for India! The reason primarily being Government’s tax benefits on cars bearing a length not more than the specified limit. One such segment is the compact crossover category in which cars below 4 metres in length avail on lesser taxes than cars above the said length, thereby reducing the total cost to a customer. In this segment, Honda Cars India is set to introduce the WR-V that will be based on the Jazz hatchback’s platform. It will also share some of its mechanicals and have some first-in-segment features as well. The popularity of the compact crossover segment in India has also increased due to an aggressive price tag, rich feature list and reasonable engine and transmission options. The new offering from Honda would directly compete with the Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the compact crossover space. 12:12 pm: Honda WR-V will be available in Metallic, Steel Metallic, Silver Metalic, Red, Golden Brown and White. The company is also offering 3 year unlimited warranty as standard. Additionally, customers can opt for an extented warranty of 2 years.

11:42am: The WR-V has a boot space of 363 litres, which is the largest in its segment. In addition, the low loading lip height makes it easy to lift and place heavy bags in the boot
11:29 am: Although Honda WR-V is based on the Jazz platform and has a longer wheelbase, it misses out on magic seats

11:05 am: The Honda WR-V comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, featuring gunmetal finish. With 205 section tyres on the top variant, the vehicle looks sharp from the side angle.
10:58 am: The Honda WR-V also comes with a sunroof, which is a first in its segment. This feature, however, is available only on the top variant.

10:47 am: Honda WR-V gets an interior design similar to the Jazz such as black dashboard with silver inserts. The compact crossover also features a 7-inch DIGIPAD infotainment system which support Mirrorlink, Bluetooth, USB.
10:40 am: Honda WR-V measures 3,999mm in length, 1,734 mm in width, 1,601 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,555 mm, which is longer by 25mm from Jazz. The vehicle also features a wheelbase longer by 25 mm over that of its hatchback sibling and hence it offers a more spacious cabin.

10:32 am: The sides also get a black cladding in the lower portion to accentuate its SUV appeal
10:28 am: The compact gets new tail lamp design similar to BR-V as well as silver skid plates at the front and the rear.
10: 22 am: The WR-V borrows some of its design cues from Honda Jazz and it gets Daytime Running Lamps integrated in the headlamps, fog lamps and a new front fascia design.
10:16 am: The WR-V will mark Honda’s entry into the segment and it will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300.
10:08am: The company has already started accepting booking of the WR-V and will be available in two variants, S and VX for the petrol and diesel engine options.
10:00 AM: The Honda WR-V will be powered by the 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine and the 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Both engines are mated to manual transmissions and there is no option of an automatic gearbox. The petrol engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and the diesel engine gets a 6-speed gearbox.
