The much-awaited launch of the 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is done and dusted, with the carmaker launching the hatchback at Rs 5.69 lakh onwards (ex-showroom). As part of the update, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets cosmetic updates, as well as several feature upgrades, most of them being segment firsts.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift gets an updated front grille, projector headlamps, roof rails, new DRLs, and new tail lamps that are sleeker and connected with a thin strip between them. Though subtle changes, all these have added up to make a substantial difference in the car’s overall design.
Updated features of the new Hyundai Grand i10 include an 8-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, Type-C USB charging porta, rear AC vents, footwell lighting, wireless charging, connected car tech, and more.
Safety features have also been upped with the new i10 Nios getting four airbags as standard across the range, while the top-spec version gets 6 airbags. Moreover, customers can opt to get all 6 airbags installed in any variant — first in the segment.
Other safety features include ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a reverse camera with display and audio, and more. Overall, Hyundai claims that the new Grand i10 Nios has over 30 safety features and 20 of them being standard across all variants.
In terms of power, the new Grand i10 Nios will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 82 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. Hyundai claims a mileage of 20.7 kmpl with the manual and 20.1 kmpl with the AMT. Hyundai is also offering a CNG variant that makes 69 bhp and 95 Nm of torque paired to a manual gearbox only.

As mentioned earlier, the CNG version of the Nios gets a 60-litre CNG tank and uses the same 1.2-litre engine as the petrol version. However, unlike the petrol version, the CNG only gets a manual gearbox.
Hyundai claims a mileage of 20.7 kmpl for the manual variant of the new Nios and 20.1 kmpl for the AMT version.

Hyundai sold 1 lakh units of the Nios last year and has a market share of 31%. The Grand i10 Nios accounts for about 25% sales for Hyundai. However, Hyundai has not set sales targets.
Customers buying the Grand i10 Nios usually stick to the family and when they upgrade, its either a SUV or sedan from Hyundai. The Grand i10 Nios contributes to 31% sales in this segment.
43% percent of the Grand i10 Nios customers are first-time buyers and most of them are looking for more features.
Hyundai has seen a significant growth with its CNG product portfolio and the Hyundai Grand i10 contributes to almost 25% towards Hyundai's CNG sales.
Hyundai has also dropped the diesel variant of the Grand i10 Nios owing to lower penetration.
Hyundai has decided to drop the turbo petrol version with the new Grand i10 Nios because Tarun Garg says it will suit the bigger engines more (i20, Venue, etc.).
