Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus has unveiled the NX crossover at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. The car has received plenty of upgrades, including driving aids and cosmetic changes. It was first launched in 2014 and went on to gain a lot of popularity worldwide. This will be the first refresh the car is receiving, and Lexus has opted to go even more aggressive on the LX's look, which was already prominently aggressive in the current generation car with a wide front grille.
The new NX gets a wider rear bumper and a longer exhausts that have now been integrated in the bumper. The suspension has been retuned, and the new car will have the same Adaptive Variable Suspension System that is used in their flagship sports coupé, the LC 500.
The old NX offered 30 compression and damping adjustments for various terrains and driving conditions, but the new car has 650 adjustments. "Starting at the spindle grille, the way the front edges connect to the front fenders results in a much bolder expression than before, clearly highlighting the NX's style design architecture," said the NX's Exterior Designer, Shin Kamiura.
Inside, Lexus has attempted to match materials with the very exclusive carmakers in the industry. The leather has been stitched using hand-operated machines to ensure straight seam lines. Other bits like gear lever, door handles and instrument switches get a satin metallic finish.
The NX will come equipped as standard with the Lexus Safety System + suite of active driver aids including radar cruise control, land departure alert and automatic high beam headlights.
Lexus was recently launched in India last month, with three of models now available in our market. Read more here .
