Jeep India will launch the petrol automatic version of the Compass around Diwali in the country. Dealers have already started taking bookings for the new automatic variants at a token amount of Rs 50,000. The car manufacturer is expected to price the Compass petrol AT between Rs 18.96 lakh and Rs 19.67 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. At the time of the launch of the Compass, the Limited automatic version was priced at Rs 18.70 lakh and Rs 19.40 lakh for the Limited (O) version. The company will revise the prices of the new petrol AT variants as recently the GST Council increased the cess from 2 to 7 percent on mid-size sedans, large size cars and SUVs.
The upcoming Compass petrol automatic variant is powered by a 1.4 litre Multiair engine that generates 165 hp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDCT). The car will deliver an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 17.1 kmpl and has a fuel tank capacity of 60 litres. The Jeep Compass petrol AT be available with 4X4 (Four-wheel drive system) option. The Compass will measure the same as other diesel variants at 4,395 mm in length, 1,818 mm in width, 1,640 mm in height and 2,636 mm in wheelbase.
The Compass petrol AT features projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), LED tail lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior, on the other hand, gets Uconnect 7-inch screen with integrated voice command, Bluetooth Audio Streaming and other connectivity options.
Similar to the diesel top-spec variant, the Compass petrol AT also gets hill start assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), traction control system and EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) in addition to the dual front airbags and ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution). The petrol AT version also features Selec-Terrain with four driving modes - Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud, for on or off-roading purpose.
