In September, 2016, Jaguar India launched the new XF at a starting price of Rs 49.50 lakh with the new Ingenium diesel engine. Now, the car manufacturer has started local manufacturing of the Jaguar XF sedan in India. The made in India Jaguar XF diesel Pure is priced at Rs 47.50 lakh and Rs 60.5 lakh for the top diesel Portfolio version. The Prestige petrol variant is priced at Rs 52.50 lakh, while the Portfolio petrol carries a price tag of Rs 59.50 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Jaguar XF is powered by the same 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 237 hp of power and 340 Nm of torque and is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel variants draw power from a 2.0 litre Ingenium turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel unit that produces 177 hp and 430 Nm and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Jaguar XF takes its inspiration from the Jaguar F-Type and uses a new lightweight aluminium chassis that help reduce the overall weight by up to 190 kg over the previous XF model. The XF is equipped with features like an adaptive LED headlamps with the 'J' Blade daytime running light and the F-Type inspired LED tail lamps.
The cabin of the Jaguar XF is also equipped with Dramatic Start-Up Sequence. This system works when the front doors are open, the start button pulses with the heartbeat, creating an emotional connection with the customer. The company has also equipped the car with Mood Lighting that can be configured in 10 colours. Besides this, in order to create more space, the premium sedan offers additional 24 mm of knee room and the legroom has been increased by 15 mm over the previous model. The Jaguar XF the Pure and Prestige trims gets an Infotainment InControl system, while the InControl Touch Pro is offered in the Portfolio variants.
