Isuzu Motor India famous for its Isuzu D-Max V-Cross pick-up and Isuzu MU-X SUV has announced a price hike by 3-4% across its product range. The prices will go up by approximately Rs. 15000/- on the D-Max (Regular Cab – Commercial Vehicle) to Rs. 1 lakh on the premium mu-X (SUV) – ex-showroom. The changes are set to take effect from 01 January 2018.
Post the annoucement of GST, Isuzu Motor India had revised the price of the mu-X SUV at Rs. 22.38 lakh (Ex-Showroom Chennai) for the 4X2 Variant.
ISUZU also manufactures and sells the D-MAX S-CAB and the D-MAX Regular Cab range of commercial pickup trucks in India. With applicable GST rates, the D-MAX S-CAB is now priced at Rs. 8.01 lakh (Ex-Showroom Chennai) and the D-MAX Regular Cab at Rs. 6.81 lakh (Ex-Showroom Chennai). Expect these prices to go up in 2018.
While the company has not officially commented on the reason of price hike, rising input costs seems to be the reason to compensate the expenditure.
Skoda Auto India too had announced a price hike by about 2-3% across its product portfolio starting next year.
