GST impact on the Hyundai Creta, price cut of up to Rs 37,000

Hyundai is extending GST benefits to its customers by reducing up to 5.9 percent tax over the ex-showroom prices.

Hyundai Motor India has announced GST price cuts across its model lineup. The car manufacturer has reduced prices by up to 5.9 percent on the ex-showroom price tags with effect from 1st July, 2017. The Creta, which was previously priced from Rs 9.29 lakh to Rs 14.64 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, is now priced from Rs 8.92 lakh to Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom. Other Hyundai model's prices have also been revised, such as the new Xcent that was launched in April this year at Rs 5.42 lakh, now carries a starting price tag of Rs 5.33 lakh, both ex-showroom prices. The Elite i20 is now priced starting Rs 5.31 lakh for the base petrol variant and Rs 8.97 for the dual tone petrol and diesel versions.

In addition to the Creta, Xcent and Elite i20, the Korean car manufacturer has now priced its entry level hatchback, the Eon between Rs 3.35 lakh and Rs 4.56 lakh. Another small car from the company's stable, the Grand i10, which is now carries an ex-showroom of Rs 4.56 lakh for the base version, while the top diesel variant is priced at Rs 7.30 lakh. Before GST, the Grand i10 was priced between Rs 4.63 lakh and Rs 7.38 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Hyundai's premium sedan, the Elantra, which was previously priced from Rs 13 lakh to Rs 19.31 lakh, now carries a starting price tag of Rs 12.48 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.46 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The premium SUV segment, that comprises of the Tuscon and Santa Fe, have also become more affordable now. The Tuscon is now priced between Rs 18.13 lakh and 23.86 lakh as compared to the pre-GST price of the Tuscon that started from Rs 19 lakh to 25.01 lakh. The Santa Fe is now priced between Rs 27.86 lakh and Rs 31.07 lakh, which is lower than the pre-GST price of Rs 29.58 lakh and Rs 33.01 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
