Formula 1 has recently announced its new F1 logo for the year 2018. For those not in the know, liberty media is the new owner of the F1 and hence, the sport will see multiple changes from its new owners. The fresh F1 logo was revealed after the conclusion of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit. The new logo has replaced the previous one that was untouched for close to 23 years. The new logo looks simpler and has been designed to adapt easily to more digital platforms. According to Ellie Norman, who is the head at F1 marketing explains about the design and says that the new logo basically represent two cars going around a racetrack and are in a neck to neck battle to cross the finish line. The new F1 logo has been designed with ab aim to offer more flexibility and verstaility over the existing one and is inspired from the low profile shape of a car. the old F1 was being respected worldwide and one of the prime reasons for it was the 1 that was intelligently given a speedy treatment. Formula 1 stars, Hamilton and Vettel say that the old F1 logo was better.
Commenting on the old F1 logo, Sean Bratches, who is the commercial chief at F1 said, "We hold in high regard the incumbent mark. It served F1 extremely well over the past 23 years, but in terms of where we are taking the business and our vision for the business, it is the negative space in the '1' doesn't come through candidly in digital."
Liberty media will be responsible for revamping the F1 completely which has to take place before the 2018 Australian Grand Prix, scheduled for March 25. The campaign will not only include a new package for television but there will also be dedicated packages for web and multiple social media platforms.
