Priced at Rs 9.26 lakh, the compact SUV now gets body graphics but mechanically, remains same.

Ford India has introduced a sportier edition of its compact SUV, the EcoSport, called the Black Signature Edition at Rs 9.26 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, just ahead of the festive season. Changes to the compact SUV are new body graphics and accessories worth Rs 37,894 including fitments and an all-black exterior.

The updated EcoSport along with the additions also has a string of 5 LEDs just below the fog lamp bezels, revised front and rear bumpers. On the inside, the EcoSport Black Signature edition has illuminated scuff plates, black vinyl seat covers with contrasting red stitching. This variant of the five-seater would continue to have all-black exteriors, which consists of black grille, black-out moulded headlamps, 16-inch black alloy wheels, black mirror covers, black fog lamp bezel, black roof rails, roof cross bars and much more like the Black Edition trim. The Infotainment system includes SYNC with AppLink, Ford’s advanced in-car connectivity system which helps the users to connect their smartphone and access data and Emergency Assistance. In terms of safety, the EcoSport comes with dual front airbags as standard and up to six airbags on higher trims.

Mechanically, the Ford EcoSport Black Signature Edition remains unchanged and is powered by a 1.5 L TDCi diesel and a 1.5 L TiVCT petrol engine. The diesel engine produces 98 hp peak power and has an ARAI rated fuel economy of 22.27 km/l, while the petrol unit develops 110 hp and have a fuel efficiency of 15.85 km/l. The petrol motor is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed dual clutch PowerShift automatic transmission, while the diesel mill paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

In terms of equipment additional to the ones aforementioned, the EcoSport also has Emergency Assist, Side and Curtain Airbags, traction control, Hill Launch Assist, rear parking sensors, climate control, keyless entry with push-button start/stop and more on the upper-end Titanium variants available in both engine options. Since its launch, the EcoSport has garnered an appreciable fan following thanks to its tall stance and water wading capacity of 550mm as well as a 200 mm ground clearance.

    Please don't waste your hard earned money in puchasing any car of Ford. Ford company's all urances are empty urance rather misleading or trapping a customer showing rosy future.I am still suffer after purchasing Ford Fiesta.
