The images of a Tesla Model X on a Mumbai dockyard had been doing rounds on the internet a few days back. The hyper electric car instantly entered the headlines as it was the first time that a Tesla was seen in India. Now, the car is spotted running on Mumbai roads by Automobili Ardent and the details of its owner have also been revealed. The said Tesla Model X belongs to Shashi Ruia who works in Essar Group. A resident of South Mumbai, Ruia was recently snapped driving the car and the pictures of him with his car near his bungalow have also emerged. The Tesla Model X is manufactured at the company's Fremont production facility in the United States. The interior of the car has some major resemblances with the Model S and it can seat a total of 7 passengers. Even the powertrain of the Tesla Model X has been shared with the Model S. The electric SUV is powered by two electric motors that have been mounted at each axle. The motor at the front wheels churns out a maximum power output of 255 hp while the one mounted at the rear is good for developing 496 horses. The combined torque output of the car stands at an impressive 967 Nm.

The base 75D variant of the Tesla Model X can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a matter of 4.9 seconds. The top end P100D model features the company's much-hyped Ludicrous mode with the help of which, the Model X does 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds. The car has an electronically restricted top speed of 250 kmph.

The Tesla Model X comes with falcon doors that open and close in a vertical fashion and hence, makes for one of the prime visual highlights of the SUV. The interior has multiple touchscreens due to which the cabin looks futuristic and upmarket. Besides this, the Tesla Model X packs in some advanced features such as semi-autonomous driving system, LED headlamps with cornering lights and a lot more.

It has to be noted that the Tesla Model X has not been launched officially in India and hence, the talked about unit looks to be a private import. The Elon Musk-led company had announced that Tesla will mark its footprints to India soon. The price of the Tesla Model X ranges between USD 73,800 and USD 1,28,300 in the international markets, translating into Rs 47.46 lakh and Rs 82.51 lakh respectively.
