Renault India first showcased the Kwid 1.0 L at the 2016 Auto Expo. Now, the firm has started accepting bookings of the car before its launch this month. Along with this, the company also showcased the AMT variant of the car, which is expected to be launched at a later stage.
The Kwid is powered by a 1.0 litre engine that churns out 67 hp of power and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Kwid 1.0 L will also sport features like standard dual-airbags and ABS. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 3679 mm in length, 1579 mm in width and 1478 mm in height. The car will have a wheelbase of 2422mm, while it will have a fuel tank capacity of 28 L.
The prices are not yet confirmed, it is expected that it will be priced between Rs. 3.50 lakh- Rs. 4 lakh. When launched, the car will compete with the likes of Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon 1.0L.
The French automaker launched the Kwid last year in September, since when the car has shown impressive growth in its sales. The company is claiming to have 15 % market share in small car segment. The firm has also started exporting Kwid in Sri Lanka and by the end of this month, it will sell its models in other parts of the world including Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
