We are now days away from 2018 Auto Expo and we can now confirm t hat the Suzuki e-Survivor concept that made its global debut at Suzuki's home country at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show will now for the first time be showcased in India. Betting big on future, the Suzuki e-Survivor is all-electric SUV concept and said to have an electric motor inside all four-wheels making it and electric four-wheel drive. Many might argue this making it to production as the next generation Suzuki Jimny globally but right now all that is at concept stages and anything on the new Jimny or Maruti Suzuki Gypsy would be a rumour.
Suzuki's e-Survivor concept that will be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in India is both wider and longer than the current Jimney that is on sale globally. The concept car measures 3,460mm in length, 1,645 mm in width and stands tall at 1,655mm. Suzuki e-Survivor gets a two-seat layout and open top roof, the Japanese auto giant believes that e-Survivor has its inspiration from the Jimny and Vitara. While many finer details on the products are not yet revealed by the company, the concept showcased in Tokyo had ultra-high ground clearance, big wheel arches and decent size wheels for off-roading ability. Light weight construction will be the biggest USP and challenge for Suzuki on the production version of this electric SUV.
At the Auto Expo 2018, Suzuki has placed a screen on the centre of the steering wheel, and another screen on the lower portion of the windscreen giving augmented reality demonstrations of the outside road on to the electric SUV. The SUV also showcases Suzuki's future cabin including very modern infotainment system. The Suzuki e-Survivor is based on ladder frame chassis similar to that of Jimny. At the global unveil Suzuki had confirmed that this future SUV can be pitched at a market for up to next 100 years. Suzuki says that the e-Survivor SUV pays tribute to Suzuki's 4WD heritage and will be ready to support autonomous driving in the coming future.
Along with the Suzuki e-Survivor, at the Maruti Suzuki pavilion at the 2018 Auto Expo the company will showcase the Maruti Suzuki Future-S small SUV concept and will also launch the much awaited 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift.
