Audi India has recently announced that it will launch the RS6 Performance in the country on 14th March. The station wagon is the more powerful version of the Audi RS6 Avant that is already on sale in India. As the name suggests, the upcoming Audi RS6 Performance will have more mind-boggling numbers than the standard RS6. Speaking of the powertrain, the new Audi RS6 Performance sources its power from a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine that is good for shedding out respective power and torque outputs of 597 bhp and 700 Nm. Having said that, the motor on the RS6 Performance develops 45 bhp more than the standard RS6 Avant. There is also an option of temporary boost with the help of which the car gets an additional torque of 50 Nm, taking the overall output to 750 Nm. The transmission duties are taken care of with the help of an eight-speed triptronic gearbox and the company’s signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system comes as standard.

Despite its weight accounting for over two tonnes, the new Audi RS6 Performance can sprint from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds. The wagon can do a top speed of 250 kmph and if the speed maniac is still not satisfied with the numbers, you can also opt for a faster version that will offer a top whack of 305 kmph along with more performance oriented carbon ceramic brakes.
The new Audi RS6 Performance gets a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats and climate control. The wagon also receives LED headlamps to light up the roads ahead uncompromisingly in the dark. The Audi RS6 Performance also gets Alcantara leather upholstery to offer a premium feel to the occupants.
The new Audi RS6 Performance is expected to be priced in India over Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom). For obvious reasons, the new Audi RS6 Performance will demand a premium over the standard RS6 Avant. The Audi RS6 Performance will have no direct rival in particular but if you still want to compare, the Volvo V90 is one such wagon that it locks horns with. More details to be revealed on 14th March!
