Mercedes Benz has recently taken the wraps off the new fourth-generation A-Class. The car is the most affordable offering from the German automaker in the global market. The new Mercedes A-Class receives major updates when compared to its predecessor. To start with, the car gets an all-new design and the interiors have also witnessed an impressive makeover. Technologically too, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class comes with the latest bells and whistles that make it an even exciting package. The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class is now sharper than the outgoing model, all thanks to the creases and lines under the new design language. The headlamps are now slim and hence, the front fascia looks considerably different than before. The LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) continue to be present on the fourth generation model as well. Even the front grille of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class is now bigger and has some rounded edges. A combination of silver and black is used on the grille section and the company's three-star symbol is present in the center just as before.
The new Mercedes A-Class looks longer than before as it has a larger wheelbase now. The rear end of the car is now wider and hence, it lends a more muscular appeal to the new A-Class. The tail lamps are now wider and slim and these definitely look better than the previous ones. The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be available for sale in multiple colour options out of which the designo mountain grey shade, as the company names it, is one of the most appealing ones.
The cabin of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class has been revamped completely and it is now a better place to be in. The AC vents now have a turbine inspired design that is a welcome change. These light up in either blue or red and the colour depends upon the temperature of the air. The steering wheel gets more aluminium and the dashboard is now a mixture of gloss black and aluminium finish. The car also gets new dual-screens that feature an infotainment system and instrument cluster. The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class is also enabled with the company's MBUX interface that offers a new navigation system and voice command facility.
The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be offered globally with a new 1.4-litre, four-cylinder engine that is good for churning out 160 hp of power. There will also be a choice of 2-litre, turbocharged engine that produces 220 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. A 1.5-litre diesel engine is also likely to be on offer that generates 115 of power and 260 Nm of torque. The engines will come mated to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
