The next generation Hyundai Santa Fe has been unveiled with a new design, better technology, and a new diesel engine option. The cosmetic upgrades on the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe give it an even more profound SUV look as it is now wider, more muscular and bigger than the previous version. Hyundai has given the Santa Fe a large cascading grille and 19-inch wheels. The new Santa Fe will be available with a new diesel engine variant, which will be the only option with a third-row seating. The 2019 Santa Fe will come with engine options of a 2.4-litre four-cylinder unit that produces 185 hp, a turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder that makes 232 hp and a new 2.2-litre diesel engine that puts put about 200 hp and 433.8 Nm of torque. Each will be connected to a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

On the inside, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe features a new instrument panel and a three-dimensional look and the infotainment screen has been repositioned to reduce glare. The cabin will have a horizontal layout making it appear wider, and the large window openings ensure better visibility. The new Santa Fe will also have a head-up display.

Hyundai has also revised the suspension on the new Santa Fe, especially at the back, to ensure a better and smoother ride quality. Hyundai will also offer optional load-leveling suspension, which will maintain the ride height even when the boot is loaded with cargo.

The 2019 Santa Fe will come with all-wheel-drive and different modes to distribute torque. For safety, 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will come with several driving assistance systems, including lane-keep assist, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and an around-view monitor. It will also have a Rear Seat Occupant Alert, which will detect motion of kids or pets at the back using ultrasonic sensors. Another interesting feature is Safe Exit Assist, that alerts the occupant before opening the door if there a motorcycle or even other vehicle is approaching.

“The fourth-generation Santa Fe continues the model’s global success story. The first Santa Fe is the foundation of Hyundai Motor’s SUV heritage,” said Byung Kwon Rhim, Executive Vice President at Hyundai Motor Company. “Hyundai truly cares about our customer’s well-being. We offer innovative and unique active safety features and class-leading roominess for extra comfort.”
