Good news Honda owners! Upgrade to 2019 Honda Civic and get free accessories & features

2019 Honda Civic was launched earlier this month with a fresh new design and a diesel engine, and now one of our reader tells us that some Honda dealerships are offering free accessories and features in exchange of old Honda car.

2019 Honda Civic was launched earlier this month, making a much-awaited comeback after a prolonged absence from the Indian car market. Launched at a starting price of Rs 17.7 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2019 Civic comes with a completely refurbished design, an option of a diesel engine and an array of features, some of which are a segment-first. And now, we've learnt that some dealerships are offering free accessories with the 2019 Civic if you happen to be exchanging it with your old Honda. There is no official statement from the manufacturer over this scheme and offers may vary from one dealership to another.

Brought to our attention by an Express Drives reader, the 2019 Honda Civic is available with additional accessories, however, the offer only stands if the buyer is exchanging their old Honda with the new Civic. The accessories on offer include a chrome package, ambient footrest lighting, floor mats & cushions and most importantly front parking sensors because it can get tricky parking a car as large as a Civic.

This is the first time Honda Civic has been launched with a diesel engine, which was missing in the model that retailed about six years ago. It now comes with two engine options – a 1.6-litre diesel that makes 120 hp and 1.8-litre petrol that makes 141 hp. The diesel version is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the petrol is offered with an automatic CVT gearbox only.

Honda has said that a manual transmission may be launched for the petrol version depending upon the demand for it. The CVT gearbox can also be operated with the paddle shifters in the petrol version of the Honda Civic.

Competing with the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra, the new 2019 Honda Civic comes with a long list features. It gets a lane watch camera and the feed of the blind spot is displayed on the central display once the driver turns on the left side indicator. Furthermore, it gets multiple interesting features like a smart key, handling assist all of which are unique to Civic in its segment.
