2018 Volvo XC60

Volvo is all set to launch the 2018 edition of its XC60 in India on the coming December 12. The SUV takes its design inspiration from its elder sibling XC90 and the S90 luxury sedan. The front fascia is dominated by a vertical grille along with headlamps that carry the company’s unique design language. On the rear, the car gets LED units and again, these highlights the brand’s respected design philosophy. The 2018 Volvo XC60 gets a design that is completely different in comparison to its German rivals. One can clearly feel the Swedish touch in the philosophy of the car while taking a glance from almost any angle. While its German counterparts like Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC come with sober and elegant design, the Volvo XC60 has a freshness to it that is a result of the company’s unique approach towards the visuals.

Talking of interiors, the 2018 Volvo XC60 feels plush on the inside. The luxury SUV has a large touchscreen infotainment system and the steering mounted audio controls add to the convenience factor. The India-bound model is expected to come with black and beige colours wrapped in high-quality leather. Like other Volvo models, the XC60 will also offer the latest bells and whistles and will be one of the safest cars in the segment.

2018 Volvo XC60

The India-spec 2018 Volvo XC60 will get only one engine option. The 2.0-litre D5 diesel engine churns out a maximum power output of 235 hp. This motor is shared with the company’s bigger XC90 SUV. The engine will come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel-drive system will be standard. Having said that, the Volvo XC60 will have an advantage over its competitors with its closest rival being the 190 hp BMW X3 as its xDrive30d 245 hp trim has already retired.

2018 Volvo XC60

The new 2018 Volvo XC60 is expected to be priced in the Indian car market at close to Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard model. As already mentioned, the car will lock its horns with the AudiQ5, BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
