2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII launched at a price of Rs 9.5 crore: What all you get beyond uber luxury and kingsize feel

The new 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII maintains the company's legacy of offering the most luxurious cars on the planet that money can buy. The new model has been launched in two models viz a standard and an extended wheelbase version. The first unit in India heads to Chennai.

Renowned luxury car maker Rolls Royce has just launched the eight generation Phantom in India at a price of Rs 9.5 crore. The company has also launched an extended wheelbase version of the car and it will set you back more with Rs 11.35 crore (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII comes based on the new aluminium spaceframe platform and the company has named it 'Architecture of Luxury'. Rolls Royce claims that the new platform is 30 percent more rigid than that of the previous model. The design of the new Rolls Royce does not see any major changes except for a few subtle alterations. However, the dimensions have seen a revision and the car is now 8mm taller, 77mm shorter and 29mm wider than its predecessor. The 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII source power from an all-new 6.75-litre, V12 twin-turbocharged engine that has been mated to an eight-speed,satellite-aided transmission system. The motor is good for churning out a maximum power output of 563 hp along with a peak torque of 900 Nm. All thanks to this, the car can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.4 seconds.

Now, the Rolls Royce Phantom has been known across the globe as the 'most silent motor car' and this one is no different. The eighth generation model gets a 6mm three layer glaze on the window surfaces and it gets 130 kg of sound insulation material so that the customer can get the 'peace of mind' he deserves after spending all that money. The car comes with a fully digital instrument cluster and the signature Rolls Royce gallery that extends from the steering wheel to the passenger door to display artwork of the owner's choice.

The new Rolls Royce Phantom VIII has been integrated with LED projector headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) and LED tail lamps. Besides, the car get suicide doors that is another signature highlight of the luxury saloon. Like every other Rolls Royce model, this one too can be customised as per the requirements of the customer.

The company offers a wide range of customisation options to offer complete liberty to the buyer in this regard. The exterior colour on the new Phantom VIII can be chosen from a total of 44,000 shades and if you are still not satisfied, you can ask the company's designers for fully personalised design. What you get additionally with the uber-luxurious car is the 24 hour roadside assistance and four-year service package and regional warranty. The first Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII has been headed to Chennai and the car will be available in other cities in the next few weeks.
