New Mercedes-AMG G63 breaks cover: Merc’s flagship off-roader now has more muscle & luxury

The new 2018 Mercedes-AMG G 63 has been revealed ahead of its global debut at Geneva Motor Show. The rugged SUV gets significant updates inside out and is more powerful and luxurious than the older model. In order to be specific, the new model gets 14 hp more power than the outgoing one.

The 2018 Geneva Motor Show is set to kick start next month and Mercedes-AMG has just revealed the details of its all-new G63 SUV. The new G63 AMG now sees a more powerful engine along with changes that are considerably enough to make it distinguish from its predecessor. Starting off with the design, the Mercedes G63 AMG's typical cues have been retained here and the signature front section is one of them. However, the integration of 12 vertical elements behind the three star symbol offer is a prime distinctive factor. Powering the new Mercedes G63 AMG is a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine that runs the company's performance cars. The engine replaces the old 5.5-litre, V8 unit and the power output now stands at 585 hp while the peak torque is rated at 649 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 4Matic four-wheel drive system. The new 2018 Mercedes-AMG  G63 can achieve a top speed of 220 kmph. If you are not happy with the number, you can opt for the driver's package that will offer an additional boost of 20 kmph in the top whack.

The suspension system on the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG has been reworked heavily and the rugged SUV is being offered with AMG ride control set up, featuring three damping modes that go by the name Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. This means that the stiffness of the suspension can be adjusted simply with the push of the button. Furthermore, the new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG has been assisted with features like full LED headlamps with optional 84 LED modules. Besides, there is also the company's high beam assist function that adjusts the beam of light automatically depending on the oncoming traffic.

The company will also offer an AMG Night Pack with the new G63 SUV in which the customer will get tinted headlamps, rear window, indicator lenses and rear side windows. The cabin of the new Mercedes G63 AMG comes with a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard has also been revised and the car will now come with a widescreen instrument cluster. More details to be revealed at 2018 Geneva Motor Show where the SUV will make its global debut!
