Which was launched at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh for the base petrol going all the way up to Rs 8.29 lakh for the fully specced diesel. The hype was well worth it considering that this all-new Swift not only had lots in the form of updated styling but also uses the new HEARTECT platform that underpins the Baleno and the Dzire. That aside the new Swift will also get a whole host of new features, that could potentially make it the best selling premium hatch in the country. Maruti opened bookings for the new Swift late in January just ahead of the launch. What’s even more interesting is the fact that by the time the new Swift launched on the 8th of February, Maruti had already stocked up 40,000 bookings for the new Swift pan-India. Since then, they have received an additional 20,000 bookings which is testament to the sheer volume of the buzz around Maruti’s all-new Swift.
