Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is poised to launch its new off-roader Jeep Wrangler by 2018. Before its official launch at LA Motor show in November 2017, the owner manual has been leaked online on jlwranglerforums.com. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will come in 2-door and 4-door versions with a choice of soft-hard top and removable hard top. Also, you can also remove doors and can fold the windshield in the next-gen Jeep Wrangler that comes in three variants - Sports, Sahara and Rubicon. The 2018 Wrangler will be powered by a 3.6-litre engine and 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, however, the company may introduce a diesel engine by 2018. The next-gen Jeep Wrangler will get a six-speed manual gearbox and an eight-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick manual mode and an AutoPark safety system with an all-wheel-drive system. In terms of safety, the next-gen Jeep Wrangler comes equipped with driver aids such as hill descent control, autonomous emergency braking and ‘Rain Brake Assist’, as standard. In addition to these safety features, it gets Dynamic Steering Torque technology and blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, reverse camera, keyless entry and a seven-inch driver information display.
The 2018 Wrangler will get two choices of infotainment systems - a seven-inch and an 8.4-inch with U-Connect technology. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and also features Do Not Disturb settings. The 8.4-inch screen shows latitude and longitude positions, altitude positions, steering angle in degrees and much more.
Jeep entered India in 2016 with a launch of three vehicles - Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT. Currently, the company sells Jeep Wrangler with two engine options - 2.8-litre turbocharged, diesel engine and a 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 engine. The India launch of next-gen Jeep Wrangler is expected by end of 2018.
Jeep India may also launch a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport competitor at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Renegade has already been spotted testing in India a few times, hinting it's close to the production stage. Renegade will be the company's entry-level model and is expected to be priced under Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
