Ford will launch the facelift version of the Figo hatchback by next year. The car has been spotted camouflaged in India for the first time by Car and Bike, revealing its design and exterior features. According to the images, the test mule is likely to get updates on the exterior and interior. From the outside, the Ford Figo facelift will boast of redesigned front and rear bumpers that will be further accentuated by new air intakes at the front and revised projector headlamps with LED DRL's (Daytime Running Lamps).
The car, as seen in the images, also gets black plastic cladding on the wheel arches, which seems to look akin to crossover variant. The company is also expected to equip the Figo facelift with newly designed twin-spoke black alloy wheels. The major change is expected inside the cabin in the form of a touchscreen infotainment system, which we expect the carmaker to equip with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also feature updated centre console.
The upcoming Ford Figo facelift is expected to be powered by the same engine options that also powers the outgoing model. Under the bonnet, it will get a 1.2 litre petrol, 1.5 litre petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel unit. The car manufacturer might also launch the hatchback with Ford’s new 1.5 litre 3-cylinder Dragon series petrol engine. The same Dragon series petrol engine is likely to be equipped on the 2017 Ford EcoSport as well and will develop about 100 hp of maximum power unlike the 120 hp on tap globally. The engine is expected to be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while some variants will get an automatic transmission.
Ford India is expected to launch the Figo facelift by next year in the country. When launched, it will continue to rival against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Tiago, Honda Brio and the Hyundai Grand i10 in its segment.
