The 2018 Ford Figo has recently been spotted testing in a heavily camouflaged state. The test mule shows multiple changes to the exterior and the new 2018 model is also expected to get new engine options as seen in the images issued by NDTV CarAndBike. One of the most prominent changes on the 2018 Ford Figo is the bold new grille that has replaced the chrome slats on the current generation model. The new grille will instantly remind you of the Ford Mustang and looks like the company's signature unit. Bumpers at both ends have also seen revisions to look better than before. The headlamps have been blacked out to offer a sporty character and the rear end receives new tail lamps that certainly look more appealing. Talking of interiors, the 2018 Ford Figo will most likely get subtle changes to the cabin. There is also a healthy chance that the company will employ the same touchscreen infotainment system that comes in the new EcoSport. The unit supports both, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Besides the Ford Figo facelift, the new Figo cross has also been snapped undergoing test runs. As seen in the spy images from Auto Adrenalin, the Ford Figo cross will come with roof rails, plastic body claddings and skid plates to look bolder than the standard model.
Powering the new 2018 Ford Figo will be the same 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine that does duty on the existing model. The company is expected to employ a 1.5-litre petrol engine in the facelift that runs the new EcoSport. Automatic transmission along with an 'S' model is also expected just like the present day model.
Currently, nothing concrete can be said about the exact launch timeline of 2018 Ford Figo and Figo cross in India. However, we believe that the car should reach dealerships sometime next year. The company will likely bring the 2018 models to the Auto Expo next year. The company has nailed it with the pricing of the new EcoSport by retaining the prices of the older model and expect the new Figo models to arrive at a competitive pricing as well.
