The all-new Passat will be powered by a conventional 2.0L TDI engine which produces 168hp of power and might be mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox. Along with this, the plug-in hybrid trim, which uses a 1.4L TSI petrol engine with an electric motor, together will churn out 215hp of max power and 400Nm of peak torque. The plug-in hybrid trim will be known as the Passat GTE.
The 2017 Volkswagen Passat will likely launch in mid-2017 and when launched it will compete with Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb.
