Porsche Panamera has now been around for quite some time, and while it did gather some attention for its performance and ride quality, it has never really been a looker. It was the first four-door passenger vehicle Porsche came up with, and now a new model is due for launch in India on 22nd March, 2017. It will look a bit sharper with the addition of LED headlamps and tweaked rear. Also sometime later in the year, Porsche plans to launch Panamera Executive Turbo, which will be bigger with a longer wheelbase. The longer wheelbase version will have a longer wheelbase than the regular Turbo, at 150mm. It would provide larger space for the rear passengers.
The Panamera Turbo will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine which develops 542.5 hp and 770 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to an eight-speed PDK automatic gearbox, and the power is sent to all four wheels. It can accelerate to 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds, Porsche claims.
The cabin has also been retouched and now includes a more elegant cockpit with less of clutter. It gets a touchscreen infotainment system and centre-console.
The brand is expected to also launch a hybrid version of the Panamera this year. There may also be more engine options available - a 3.0 litre V6 and a 4.0 litre V8. The pricing for the standard Panamera is expected to be around Rs 1.9 crore, and the expected price tag for the Executive Turbo variant is Rs 2 crore (ex showroom).
