Nissan Motor India is set to launch the Terrano facelift tomorrow with a list of upgrades for the exterior and interior. Before the official launch happens, details of the SUV have surfaced on the Internet, giving an insight of what all can be expected from the new Terrano. Under the bonnet, the car is expected to remain the same, while it will receive goodies for the cabin and enhanced looks.
Inside the cabin, the 2017 Terrano has received upgrades such as a dual tone dashboard, new steering wheel with audio controls, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice recognition and new door trim design. In addition, it gets new fabric for the seats, white backlight illumination for door switches, and top end variants will be equipped with cruise control. The car will also get an exterior colour – Sandstone Brown, along with ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
The facelifted Terrano will feature the same engine options, a 1.6 litre petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. The 1.6 litre petrol engine generates 103 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque and is mated to 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5 litre diesel engine is offered in two states of tunes, one delivers 83 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed transmission while the other produces 109 hp of power and 248 Nm of torque and is available with a 6-speed manual or an AMT.
The SUV is likely to get ABS (Anti-lock Braking) system, along with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual front airbags as a standard part of the equipment list.
The 2017 Terrano is expected to be priced higher than the current model on sale. When launched, the new Terrano will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Ford EcoSport.
