Prices start at Rs 53,600, ex-showroom Delhi
Japanese bike maker, Yamaha has introduced a new colour option for its commuter motorcycle Saluto. Called the Matt Green, the new colour has been launched with expectations to attract more customers. The Saluto with the new paint scheme is priced at Rs 53,600 for the drum brake version and Rs 56,100 for the disc brake one, both ex-showroom Delhi. Considering the standard 'Victory Red' and 'Brave Black' colours start at Rs 52,600, the Matt Green is priced at Rs 1,000 extra.
In terms of mechanicals, the Saluto has no changes. It is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, petrol engine that generates 8.4hp of max power at 7,000 rpm and 10.1Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. This power is sent to the rear wheel via a 4-speed, constant mesh, manual gearbox. On the occasion, Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha India Motor Sales Pvt Ltd said, “Since its launch, Saluto has gained immense popularity in the commuter segment. The launch of new vibrant colour schemes and graphics of Saluto are in line with Yamaha’s promise to constantly delight its customers. While the core concept of Saluto remains the same, Yamaha strives to continuously interact and excite its target audience with the new products and services.” The Yamaha Saluto happens to be the lightest two-wheeler in its segment at 113 kg and this has resulted in a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 78 Kmpl.
The new paint scheme is expected to reach the company's authorised dealership by 21st September 2016. Yamaha also introduced the Saluto RX recently that has also garnered a huge audience. That said, a number of customers were let down as they were expecting the return of the original RX design equipped with modern technology.
