Yamaha opens India’s first boutique for scooters, here’s what it looks like

The Japanese two-wheeler brand aims to build a closer relationship with existing customers through this scooter boutique

India Yamaha Motor has inaugurated a very distinct initiative called Yamaha Scooter Boutique in Chennai under the banner of its dealership 'Bikerz'. The boutique will offer a one stop shop for scooter and fashion accessories, along with a buying experience provided by a team of professionals. The new boutique has been built on an area of 3100 sq ft for sale of accessories and the entire range of Yamaha scooters available in India. The Japanese two-wheeler brand aims to build a closer relationship with existing customers through this scooter boutique. Yamaha scooters have garnered a popularity in the Indian two-wheeler market. With an aim to grow as a personal mobility brand, Yamaha set up shop in 2012. The Fascino, in particular, has been well liked in India, along with Cygnus Ray Z and Cygnus Ray ZR. Yamaha also hopes the initiative will also help boost the brand with more female riders.

“Yamaha’s innovation in design and technology has contributed significantly to the modern era of motorcycling in the world. Similar engineering is also consumed to design Yamaha’s global scooter line up which offers comfort and excitement with every ride along with stylish and sporty visual appeal. India’s expanding scooter segment, which has been defining the growth trajectory for the domestic two-wheeler industry for quite some time, could now see a boost with more female customers,” Commenting on the launch of the Scooter Boutique, Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said.

“Yamaha’s Scooter Boutique, being the first of its kind in India as well as in the world, will bring out the global experience of exciting brand engagement and appropriate customer interface to let the Indian customers connect their scooter passion to the worldwide trend of scootering.”

Speaking on the occasion, Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “Yamaha’s scooter boutique will host exciting experiences of buying and servicing which draws its true value when offered to the evolving customer base for scooters in India. Today’s customer shows enhanced engagement when they are offered finest hospitality in the buying zones.

“The boutique is aimed at creating a world class facility for Yamaha customers by focussing at their lifestyle which is now an extension of their personality. Also as a young brand, Yamaha’s connect with fashion and lifestyle (established through the fashion scooter Fascino) will be amplified through services of lifestyle enrichment and fashion cues. The boutique will offer style and comfort along with realistic purchase options based on comfort, riding skills and economy.”
