The all-new Yamaha MT-15 will finally be launched in India tomorrow. With this, the long wait for all those will come to end who have been eagerly waiting for this hotly anticipated street naked. The motorcycle has already started reaching the dealerships across India and the leaked images have given a clear idea of how the India-spec model will be like. The new Yamaha MT-15 gets power from the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that powers the R15 V3.0. The fuel injected engine is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 19 bhp and 15 Nm.
Braking duties on the Yamaha MT-15 are taken care of with the help of disc brakes at both ends and a dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) will come as standard for additional safety. The India spec version sees multiple cost-cutting measures in order to keep the costs in check. For instance, the inverted forks up front have been replaced with conventional telescopic forks.
The Yamaha MT-15 is a radical looking motorcycle and its biggest visual highlight is the bug eye shaped LED headlamp. The bike gets sharp creases and lines that run across the entire body length. The MT-15 gets a muscular looking fuel tank along with sharp tank shrouds that enhance the appearance. Furthermore, the bike gets black alloy wheels with neon coloured pinstripes for a better visual appeal.
The new Yamaha MT-15 is expected to be launched in India at a price close to Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle primarily challenges the likes of the KTM 125 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in the segment. Stay tuned with Express Drives for more such updates!
