BMW Motorrad is finally going to enter the Indian market with the launch of the 2017 G310 R and the GS310. It will be producing motorcycles locally in collaboration with TVS, which will be responsible for manufacturing while BMW remains in-charge of designing and technology. Further confirming plans for the G310 R's launch in India, another video has surfaced where the motorcycle was shot without camouflage on NH7. The G310 R will be the most affordable and the smallest capacity motorcycle offered by the German manufacturer. BMW will also be exporting units manufactured in India to Europe, other countries in Asia and also to Australia.

It was first showcased at the Auto Expo held in February. The BMW G310 R comes with 313cc engine, that produces 34 bhp and 28 Nm of peak torque, paired to a six-speed constant mesh transmission. It will have 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm rear disc assisted by dual-channel ABS. India-bound G310 R is likely to come in three colours - Strato Blue Metallic, Cosmic Black and Pearl White Metallic.
