The two-wheeler scooter segment is one of the fastest growing segments in India. It is courtesy the versatility a scooter offers over other two-wheeler and is apt for our road conditions. In the bandwagon of this class, Suzuki has a number of options to choose from, one of them being the Access 125. Launched in 2013 the scooter got a minor update in 2016 and now it is available in a special edition at a price tag of Rs, 55, 589,ex-showroom Delhi.
The Access 125 Special Edition has no mechanical changes, however the new livery of a brown seat cover and a white paint with a little offset of tan for the footboard make it rather interesting to look at. The scooter will also have disc brake as an option that is priced at Rs. 58,900 ex-showroom Delhi.
On the occasion, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL said, “The Access15 has been one of our most successful models. We have enhanced the fashion quotient and introduced the Access 125 Special Edition to diversify our presence in the segment and cater to the evolving needs of our customers. The Access 125 Special Edition is an indivisible combination of substance and style which gives it a retro feel and make it stand out in the crowd.”
Powering the two-wheeler is a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol motor that generates 8.6 hp of max power at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. On paper and in actual, the Access 125 is a peppy and fun scooter to ride, thanks to the kerb weight of 102 kgs which is pretty light in this segment. This power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT transmission. Suspension is courtesy a telescopic fork at front and a swing arm at the rear. The disc brake variant also gets alloy wheels to add to the oomph.
