New special edition variants come with refreshed livery albeit no mechanical changes

Japanese motorcycle maker, Suzuki has introduced two new special editions of the company's most affordable fully-faired and naked sports bikes in India namely the Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP. These bikes would be available in the rear disc brake version only. Although the changes are restricted to the cosmetic department, they include a new maroon coloured seat, LED tail lamp and a Matt Grey colour scheme.

The new limited editions can be yours at a price of Rs 80,726 for the naked and Rs 88,857 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi) for the fully-faired version and are available only at select dealerships across the country. At the launch, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motor India Pvt Ltd, “We are pleased to announce our latest Special Edition variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, enabling us to expand our offerings in the Gixxer series. The Gixxer is one of our most successful and admired street sports bikes, known for its powerful performance, sporty style and it has been well accepted by the Indian youth. The SP editions of the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF stay committed to the exceptional performance and ability of the Gixxer and give an edgy look to the fashionable rider.”

This MotoGP edition of the Suzuki Gixxer versions is powered by the existing 155cc single-cylinder petrol motor that generates 14.6hp of max power and 14Nm of peak torque. The company had also introduced a rear disc brake variant in both the bikes this year, however the lack of an ABS still did not quite cut it with the technologically inclined buyer. That said, we would love to see an ABS as well as a more powerful, maybe quarter-litre version of the bikes.
