Suzuki is set to add another variant of Gixxer SF FI to its lineup, one that will feature ABS (Anti-lock braking system). An alleged brochure of the new motorcycle has been leaked online, which indicates the launch may be closer than expected. According to the images posted by Thrust Zone, the Gixxer SF will also get a new tri-colour paint job. The ABS equipped Gixxer SF FI is also expected in the regular all Black and Triton Blue colour options. Along with the new paint job, there will also be new SP stickers on the fairing.
The fully-faired motorcycle is priced at Rs 93000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and an addition of ABS will bring the price up by about Rs 3000-4000. However, the ABS version will definitely be a better option to go for.
The Gixxer SF FI will continue to be powered by a 154.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that develops 14.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm, mated to a five-speed transmission.
While ABS is a necessary safety fitment as it helps the wheels not to lock in emergency braking situation, Suzuki offering ABS on the Gixxer is also in line with the government regulation to make the system mandatory for motorcycles above 125cc starting April 2018.
The Gixxer SF FI is one of the fastest motorcycles in the 150cc segment in India. This is one of the few motorcycles that one, who is looking for sports styling and performance, can choose from on a budget.
