Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has announced its tie-up with Amazon India for selling online merchandise, reported PTI. Piaggio in partnership with Amazon will sell its Aprilia and Vespa scooter merchandise on e-commerce platform for the first time.
The Piaggio Aprilia and Vespa merchandise will include a wide range of fashion apparel such as shirts, T-shirts and jackets. Besides this, the company will also retail other phone accessories like iPad sleeves, phone back-covers along with other two-wheeler accessories like bandanas and helmets.
Commenting on the partnership, Piaggio Vehicles Managing Director and CEO Stefano Pelle said, "The association with Amazon India will take our online presence, started with the successful launch of Aprilia SR 150 and Vespa on Paytm, to the next level".
According to Amazon India, Category Leader (Automotive) Suchit Subhas, the automotive on Amazon.in e-commerce website is one of the fastest growing categories where customers buy products various products such as helmets, gloves and knee guards. "We shall continue to explore many more such synergetic partnerships to offer our customers the best of selection on Amazon.in," Subhas added.

This move by the automaker is also due to the growing e-commerce experiences that make it convenient for the customers to have a look at a wide range of products anywhere and anytime. Other automakers in the country have also tied up with many e-commerce websites to sell their products, not only accessories and merchandise, but also vehicles.
