Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has just announced that the bookings for the X-Blade motorcycle have commenced at all company’s dealerships across India. The motorcycle made its debut at Auto Expo 2018 and is one of the prime highlights at the company’s pavilion. The deliveries of the new Honda X-Blade will commence by mid March. The company has not stated the exact pricing of the new X-Blade but it has revealed that the figure will stay under Rs 79,000 (ex-showroom). The new Honda X-Blade shares its engine with the CB hornet 160R as it comes fitted with the same 162.7cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that runs the latter. The mill is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 14 bhp along with a peak torque of 14 Nm.
The braking on the new Honda X-Blade is done with the help of 276mm disc brake at the front along with a 130mm drum brake at the rear. The suspension system of the new Honda X-Blade comprises of conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear end has been assisted with a monoshock. Prime highlights of the new Honda X-Blade include an LED headlamp and tail lamp, gear position indicator and a lot more. The motorcycle also gets a rear tyre hugger that looks sporty.
Commenting on the bookings of the new Honda X-Blade, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Honda unveiled its 4th brand new model of 2018 – the X-Blade at Auto Expo 2018. We are indeed very excited to receive unprecedented response from Generation Z. We are happy to open the bookings for all-new Honda X-Blade today. Delighting Young Indian trendsetters with revolutionary segment first features, Honda’s ultimate head turner X-Blade will surprise Indian youth with its aggressive price of under 79,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The X-Blade deliveries will start from the middle of March on first-come-first-serve basis.”
The new Honda X-Blade indeed makes more sense than the CB Hornet 160R as the company is offering more number of features at a lesser price tag than the CB Hornet 160R. The Hornet 160R in comparison, can be yours for Rs 82,359 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and hence, it costs close to Rs 3,000 more than the X-Blade. While Honda has nailed it with good pricing, only time will tell if the new X-Blade has made the enthusiasts convinced or not!
