New bike & scooter launches in May

From Bajaj Pulsar NS400 to the new pair of Hero Xoom scooters, here’s a look at the upcoming two-wheeler launches slated for May 2024.

The month of May will witness multiple new launches in the month of May. These will include introduction of new motorcycles and scooters in both combustion engine and EV segments. The month kickstarted with the Ferrato Disruptor, a new premium electric sports bike from Okaya EV.

Let us look at all the other two-wheeler launches slated to take place for the rest of the month.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400

The first big launch for May 2024 will be the all-new 400cc Bajaj Pulsar. To be named Pulsar NS400, the new model will sit on top of the Pulsar lineup. The upcoming naked streetfighter has been spotted testing on several occasions over the last few months. It is likely to share underpinnings with the Pulsar NS200 and expected to borrow the same 373cc liquid-cooled, liquid-cooled motor used in the Dominar 400 and the older-gen KTM 390 range.

2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250

Earlier in January this year, Husqvarna launched the all-new Svartpilen 401 in India along with the updated Vitpilen 250. At the time of launch, Husqvarna revealed there will be more launches by the Swedish brand in India. The company recently homologated the updated Svartpilen 250 in the country. Expect it to receive a similar set of updates as the Vitpilen 250.

Launch: End of May

Hero Xoom 125/Xoom 160

Hero MotoCorp unveiled the new Xoom range of scooters earlier this year at the World Hero Day. These include Xoom 125 and Xoom 160. Hero may launch either or both the scooters in the market sometime in May. While the Xoom 125 is expected to borrow underpinnings from its 125cc sibling Destini. The Xoom 160 will be an all-new offering with brand new underpinnings and powertrain.

Bajaj Chetak new variant

Bajaj currently offers two trims of Chetak— Urbane and Premium. The Chakan-based bikemaker is expected to introduce a new variant of the battery-powered Chetak. No details regarding the same are available as of now, but is inspected to get a slightly different electric powertrain from the existing Chetak lineup, and is also likely to come with an affordable price tag.
