New 2019 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight Special, Street Glide Special launched: Here’s what’s new!

The new 2019 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight Special will be sold alongside the standard model and hence, is a new addition to the company's Sportster family. On the other hand, the new 2019 Street Glide Special replaces the previous model.

The new 2019 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight special and Street Glide Special have been launched in the country. While the new Forty-Eight Special can now be yours for a price of Rs 10.98 lakh, the new 2019 Street Glide Special will now set you back by Rs 30.53 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Forty-Eight Special will be sold alongside the standard model and hence, is a new addition to the company's Sportster family. On the other hand, the new 2019 Street Glide Special replaces the previous model. The Street Glide Special also comes in a lower spec version but it is not on sale in India.

In comparison to the previous Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight, the new model gets a slightly larger 1,200cc Evolution engine. In terms of aesthetics, the new 2019 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight Special gets new graphics with an aim to make the bike look more appealing than before. The said decals have been inspired by the bikes of the 1970s. The new 2019 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight gets power from a 1202cc, Evolution engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. On this motorcycle, the peak torque output is rated at 98.9 Nm.

Speaking of the other motorcycle here, the new 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special gets power from a 1868cc, Milwaukee Eight 114 engine that is good for developing a peak torque output of 163 Nm. The new 2019 avatar of this touring motorcycle gets a 6.5-inch coloured touchscreen display with the help of which you can access phone calls, messages and navigation and more on the go. The motorcycle tips the scales at 362 kg and has been fitted with a generous 22.7-litre fuel tank.

The new 2019 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight challenges the likes of Indian FTR 1200 S in the segment. On the other hand, the new Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special locks horns with the likes of the Indian Chieftain. Stay tuned with us for more such updates!
